When a representative of judges declared that Shantou University won the first prize on the stage, all the students from Shantou University cheered up.
On April 9th in 2012, under the lead of Fanqi Zeng, Shantou University SIFE team went to Guangzhou and competed with 16 teams from other universities in the SIFE China regional competition. After the 4-hour intense competition, STU SIFE team won the first prize, Technology Innovation Award and Award for Best Consultants with excellent performance. A new member of the team, Hui Duan, said proudly: “So excited! I felt all the effort we have made is worth. ”
STU SIFE team presented two new projects to the judges. They are Fenghuang Promotion Project and Chaozhou Ceramic Rebirth Project, respectively. The Fenghuang Promotion Project is aimed at helping low-income tea farmers in Fenghuang Mountains and tries to improve the fact that the tea grown in low mountains is unsalable for years. On one hand, the team looked for new sales channels to increase sales volume. On the other hand, the team helps the tea farmers to use green manure crops instead of chemical fertilizer. This can not only improve the tea’s quality, but also can cut down costs. In addition, the green manure increases organic matter in soil, which is good for the sustainability of tea growing in this area.
Chaozhou Ceramic Rebirth Project is focused on dealing with Chaozhou waste porcelain and the pollution problems related to the generation of waste porcelain. Through the project, the team helps local porcelain manufacturers to solve the environmental problems and generate more profits by making use of waste porcelain. Mr. Zhuo, a partner of Rui Sheng headhunting company, said in his micro blog “I really enjoy the presentation of Shantou University.”
It’s reported that Shantou University SIFE team will participate in SIFE China national competition, which will be held in Beijing on June 5th and 6th. It will be the fourth time that STU SIFE team stands on the stage of national competition. With the support of Li Ka Shing Foundation and Shantou University Business School, STU SIFE team will surely keep moving on with confidence in national championship.
